Cully Community Market

From the folks at the newly-renamed Cully Community Market:
====
Greetings friends, neighbors, and supporters,

Cully Community Market wants to wish you the very happiest of holiday seasons!
While we're all warm and toasty spending time with family and friends this winter, we're thinking ahead to the days of sun, super fresh veggies, toe-tapping music, tasty tamales, and connecting with friendly neighbors at the Cully Community Market. So much has happened this first year of the market! A big thanks is due to everyone that made it such a success—vendors, volunteers and patrons alike! We have made many friends and learned many lessons about how to make a new market work. And a HUGE “thank you” to Central Northeast Neighbors, Trinity Lutheran Church (for the awesome site) and the City of Portland for helping get us going and for their continued support.
Well, the first thing you might have noticed is the name change. We are now the “Cully Community Market”. Changing “Collective” to “Community” made more sense in regard to our focus.  We've got exciting plans to expand the market in 2011 and I want to share some of the highlights with you:
 More Choices-
we're signing up more veggie, fruit, berry, and ready to eat foods vendors
More Chances to Shop and Mingle-
We’re expanding to 15 markets this year. Every Saturday, June 4- Sept 10
 More Visibility-
We’re going to put up numerous signs around the neighborhood, place ads in community newsletters, and spread the word to local businesses.
And we've got a new web site –

All We really need now is you!

Are you able to help?
Cully Community Market is all volunteer run. This means there's a place for you at the planning table, doing behind the scenes work, and as a market day
volunteer. Whatever your skills or interests, there's room for your energy, ideas, and work. We're planning a volunteer orientation in the spring. Keep
your eyes out for more communications from our Volunteer Coordinator and check out our new web page. For more information on how to volunteer. E-mail

Know any vendors?
Do you have a favorite farmer, soap-maker, baker, or chef? Let them know that there are still some spaces open at our markets and that they should contact us
for more information on how to become a vendor at the Cully Community Market.
Want to sell your stuff?
Cully Community Market is unique because it allows community members to sell their wares.  Have veggies from your backyard garden? Are you a crafty? Do you have some good items that your neighbors might want to buy? There’s an opportunity for you to sell. See our web site for community table rules and guidelines.
We're also always accepting donations.
There's still a few key items to buy to make the market day-to-day work.  And we'd love to be able to start a re-usable dishes program, and offer scholarships to our prepared food vendors to help them buy supplies and the required permits.  Consider giving a gift to Cully Community Market in honor of family members or friends.  We'll send them a thank you card and let them know that you gave the gift of community-building this year!
To donate, please send a check made out to
Central Northeast Neighbors with "Cully Community Market" in the memo line.
mail to 4415 NE 87th Portland, Oregon 97220
I look forward to getting to know you better throughout the market season.
